Preptio Blog | General | Revision Strategy | preptio.com
The last two weeks before your ICAP CA Foundation exam are your most valuable preparation time — and also the most dangerous if used poorly. Too many students panic-revise at random, or work through material they already know instead of targeting genuine gaps. Done right, two weeks is enough to significantly sharpen your performance across all four subjects.
This is a practical, day-by-day strategy built around the reality of what ICAP CA Foundation requires.

The Core Principle: Revision, Not Learning
The most important mindset shift for the last two weeks: you should not be learning new topics. If you encounter a topic you have never studied before in Week 14, it is too late to master it. Accept the gap, move on, and make sure every topic you have already studied is as sharp as possible.
Two weeks is for reinforcement, not discovery. Use it to harden what you know, close near-ready gaps, and build exam-condition confidence through practice.
Day-by-Day Revision Plan
Days 1-2: Diagnostic Assessment
Before diving into revision, take a full assessment to know exactly where you stand. On Day 1, attempt one full mock test each for BAE (combined Vol I + Vol II) and a FOA Financial Statements case on Preptio. On Day 2, do a QAFB custom quiz of 50 questions across the full syllabus.
After both days, review your Preptio performance analytics. Make a list of every chapter below 60% accuracy. These are your revision priority targets.
Days 3-5: FOA Deep Dive
FOA is typically the highest-stakes paper for most students. Allocate the highest time block here.
- Day 3: Financial Statements — do 2 trial balance cases on Preptio under timed conditions. Review every wrong answer.
- Day 4: Accruals, prepayments, depreciation — custom quiz of 40 questions on these three topics combined.
- Day 5: Remaining FOA weak chapters from your diagnostic list — targeted custom quiz of 50 questions.
Days 6-8: BAE Revision
- Day 6: BAE Vol I (ITB) — business structures, company types, stakeholders, corporate governance. 40-question custom quiz.
- Day 7: BAE Vol II (ECO) — demand and supply, elasticity, market structures, macroeconomics. 40-question custom quiz.
- Day 8: Full BAE Mock Test on Preptio — combined Vol I + Vol II in real ICAP ratio. Full time, no pausing.
Days 9-10: QAFB Focus
QAFB rewards methodical practice more than any other subject. Identify your 3 weakest QAFB chapters from Day 2 diagnostics.
- Day 9: Two weakest QAFB chapters — 30 questions each, with full working on paper for every numerical question.
- Day 10: Third weakest chapter + mixed QAFB questions — 60 questions across the subject.
Days 11-12: Mixed Subject Simulation
By this point, your subject-specific gaps should be closing. Shift to cross-subject simulation.
- Day 11: Custom quiz — 20 FOA + 20 BAE + 20 QAFB mixed questions. Time yourself. One hour total.
- Day 12: Repeat with a different set. Focus on switching mentally between subject contexts quickly.
Day 13: Light Review + Weak Spot Final Pass
No new mock tests. Go through your weak spot list from Days 1-2 and check your most recent accuracy scores on Preptio for each of those chapters. For any that are still below 65%, do a final 20-question focused drill.
Also: confirm your exam details. Log in to ICAP portal, confirm your exam centre, exam time, and required documents.
Day 14: Exam Eve
- Light revision only — no new questions, no new topics
- Review your summary notes for each subject — not full chapters, just key formulas and concepts
- Prepare everything you need for the exam hall the night before
- Sleep at a reasonable time — fatigue on exam day costs marks
